Welcome to the PEOPLExpressions™ Blog!  The launch of the newly updated FlyPEX.com website and the opening of reservations, as we prepare to take to the skies, are exciting steps in the launch of our company and we are excited that you have chosen to visit our new online home.  Our Leadership Team has spent the past few years getting to this point in our launch process and we couldn’t be more proud to have you as our guests.

So that you know what our PEOPLExpressions™ Blog is all about, well, it’s really about PEOPLExpress™ and allowing us to share with you glimpses into our company and who we are as a Team.  Sometimes you will find members of our team posting about our company, new flights, destinations, or service enhancements.  You may find a post here about PEOPLExpress’™ involvement in the communities we serve, perhaps a post about recruiting activities, or even just a post talking about a Team Member event or what it’s like to be a PEOPLExpress™ Team Member.    Or, in the case of this post, a chance to share how we arrived here today.

In 1981, a group of entrepreneurially minded and innovative aviation professionals set out to change the world of air travel. PEOPLExpress™ came to epitomize airline deregulation and was the paradigm shift that left an indelible mark on aviation history.

Fast forward 30 years to 2011, a similarly minded group, also made up of innovative professionals, got together and decided that the air travel had once again evolved and it was time for another shift. Air travel had become an unpleasant, difficult, and costly experience for many travelers, and in response to that need, the new PEOPLExpress™ was born.

From the very beginning, we knew that to be successful, we would have to provide a fun, creative, and innovative approach to flying, whether your trip is for business, family trips, or an exciting vacation.  We knew that we would also need to dispel the myth that low air fares have to mean low service or an impersonal experience, while restoring the concepts of Respect, Value, and Excitement to the air travel experience… and we feel that we have built an alternative for you that does those things.

Now, it’s mid-2014, almost two and a half years since the initial public announcement of our intent to revive the iconic PEOPLExpress™ brand and return it to the skies, we’ve moved from the planning phase of our development into the service delivery phase... and it’s an exciting time for all of us.  By providing affordable and enjoyable flights on full size Boeing 737 jets, on a convenient schedule, to cities that are underserved, we feel confident that we will be able to earn your business and keep you coming back to us when your plans call for air travel.
